Getting back in the Groove!! Figured it might as well start with where I fell out of the groove!!

Well, I have been gone for quite a while. To be truthful I just couldn't seem to find the umph to blog. I kept wanting to but the words just were not there. I know quite a few of you are on Facebook with me, some are not. We have had a lot of ups and downs as a family in my absence, but God always brings us through!!
He took the opportunity to take me through the cleaning up process. He used a lot of things which I could wish never happened - but if they did not then He would have to have found something else just as challenging. Because I had to face the fact that I was not just a little bit stubborn. I was being rebellious and He had had enough. My grand daughter, Mackenzie said it so well the other day. She is four now and she loves for us to sing our prayers on the way to Preschool. Her version went something like this " Thank You God for healing me (she had had an awful cough and ear infection) and Thank You for healing GaGa (what she has named my husband) although You didn't heal GaGa as well as You healed me" - and that is the kicker part of the prayer. We get so good at telling God what He can do and even how He can do it!! Sadly it can be very hard to even recognize that is what you are doing. We call it by other names - HELPING God (control), Not wanting to bother Him (pride), or how about hearing what He is saying but just doing it your own way anyways. Maybe I didn't hear Him right after all! (rebellion) or not wanting to have people look at us especially if we get it wrong. It is easy to let it become all about self and not about Him. I let others attitudes affect me and withdrew more and more from what I loved. Sharing with others, praying with others, blogging - even the little minor things. I loved my time with ya'll. But the more I backed away, the harder it became to come back. Same with the Lord. He never moved - but evidently I did! His voice became fainter and fainter and eventually I hardly heard it at all. It was so faaaaar away. I don't know that I can even explain where He has taken me. I do know it was what needed to happen. In the process He has/is taking care of Generational stuff, He has taken me back to things which I had no idea were even in me. Reasons for attitudes that went back to such simple little things not handled correctly. But some from childhood when you don't even KNOW how to HANDLE something. But our enemy roams about like a lion seeking whom he can devour - and he has no problem with it being our young! The other day I was driving home from dropping Mackenzie off at Preschool and I had a thought from the previous evening. Rick and some of the kids (does college age still count as kids?? LOL) had gone for a walk and it got dark quicker than anticipated. So for safety reasons they called me to pick them up. As we drove home Rick pointed out a spot on the road where they had passed a dead momma opossum and her two babies. They must have gotten hit by a car. Well that momma and her two babies was what I was thinking about. I was wondering if the two babies got hit too or did they just keep clinging to the momma until they did get hit or just died? I was wishing Rick had not pointed her out because as ugly as they are I hated to think of those creatures laying there in the road. That is when the Lord told me that is how we are with things. We will cling to things from the past, things that have no life and bring no life. We will hold on until we die too. A simple message. What dead thing are you holding on to? I am in the process of cleansing our home. Getting rid of things which hold me to the past in negative ways. Some things are spiritual and some are physical. I desire to walk in the freedom that Christ has brought. Well I think I will stop here for now as this has gotten quite long. Have a great evening and I will catch you on the next blog!!

I have received a challenge Question and Answer Session. It came from Mary Ann to Abbie to Me!!
There are two rules...
Rule 1: The tagged person must post answers to the questions on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new one they've formulated themselves.
Rule 2: Tag 4 other people to do this quiz.

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family?
I think they are members of the family. We spend a lot of time and love on them. However, they never have the same love priority as people. I do have a firm perspective on them being pets.

2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be?
ALL of my loved ones in a True Love Relationship with Jesus.

3. What would you do with a billion dollars?
It is always fun to dream ........ If I won a lot of money I would...... and you know I cannot ever come up with enough answers for a smaller than a billion dollars amount - but here are some of them. Tithe on what I have won. However with this much money I am sure I would be going above the Tithe. If God blesses you with something like this , I think I would HAVE to bless others. First the obvious things like - Retire my husband. Pay off debt, not only mine - but that of family members. I have always thought I would love to fund a retirement for my Mother in Law, Sue. She has worked hard her whole life and truly served others. I would like to see her relaxing and being served for a while. Take a vacation (a LONG vacation). I have always wanted to go to Jerusalem and to Alaska and the Panama Canal. Also I would love to go to England again for a good long visit and see family, with a quick trip northerly to Scotland while I am there. I would put back money for the girls and their future kids (since we only have Kenzie at present, but I am sure that will change). There are those who have been a blessing in my life that I would love to financially bless in return. I have probably only just spent a minor portion of it..............................

4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
Time spent with God, whether in His Word, in Prayer or in Praise and Worship. Also time with Family and often Friends. Love poured back in is a great cure all!

5. What is your bedtime routine?
Put Jammers on, brush teeth, use Mary Kay cleansing products, read Bible, sometimes watch TV, often end up on the computer catching up.

6. Name something that has surprised you this week about motherhood (or womanhood)...
Absolutely NOTHING new is coming to mind!! I will say that Motherhood continues to be a joy in my life. The Lord has been teaching me to keep it in balance - AFTER Him. I love being a Mother and Grandmother. It is amazing what children can teach us!!

7. What kind of books do you read?
Bible, Christian reading/studies. I love the Dee Henderson books, however I guess she is not adding anymore. It has been a LONG time. Self - help books (gardening, decorating, dieting, etc.)

8. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Wherever the Lord takes me. I don't really look THAT far ahead.

9. What’s your fear?

Knives, Loss of control was always a big one - but the Lord has exploded that one to pieces!! LOL

10. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space?
No Way!

11. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Run to the Bathroom!! Talk to the Lord about the upcoming day and give it over to Him for His purposes. From there it varies depending if it is my day to get Mackenzie up or not.

12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be? Or, if you’re single - if you could choose a significant other who looked like anyone in the world, who would it be?
I'm changing this question...
What is one thing you love about your husband?
I like Abbies changed question. I am truly blessed with my husband. Rick has always been supportive even when it is something he has no interest in. I have never had to worry about bills being paid. He is very conscientious about those and about his job. He is a wonderful Father to our 3 girls and I think he was a great Father in Law to our two 1 ex and one soon to be ex son in laws. He is a Great Grandfather (or GaGa as Mackenzie has named him). He spends quality time with her. She loves when he takes her outside and they get to explore or do chores on the property.

13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I believe I am happy with Carole.

14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?
If it were rain mixed with some decent get outside and catch up on things days then rain. Especially with a couple of really good thunderstorms thrown in. That always makes me think of Texas. We lived next to a TV station and would often see lightening strike the TV tower. Our family would gather out on the front porch to enjoy it. I do enjoy sunshine too, but I am more about days like we are getting now. Just wish it were more consistent.

15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
At the moment Broccoli and carrots cooked in a variety of ways and of course raw.

16. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most?
The interaction with others. I love keeping up with family and friends lives and sharing my own with them.

17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods?
I go back and forth. Also I love sweet AND salty!!

18. What items are in your purse right now?
Mary Kay Catalogs, Mary Kay Business Cards, credit cards, drivers license, military dependent ID, comb, lipstick, tap measure, Mary Kay Lip Balm, pens, notebook, keys, mini flashlight, tear drops, change............

19. If you had to choose between vacationing at the beach or in the mountains where would you go?
I would like to go to the beach. Our last few vacations have been to the Mountains and I have loved it. But I am ready for a switch up!

20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn't?
Truthfully I don't really watch too much Television. Most of the time I rent a movie if I want to see one.

Now I have to tag four people. No pressure, but if you're willing to play along...
