These girls did an awesome job!!!

I think this is one of the best versions I have ever heard. They are called the Cactus Cuties from Lubbock, Texas. They are aged 8 through 13.

I AM

I love Nichole Nordeman's music. This song says so much. Listen closely. He is Immanuel. I AM.

The Lighthouse

When I started this blog and needed to pick my wallpaper, I knew that as soon as I saw the Light House that was where I would start on this blog. I posted the song above because it is a song that I have always loved. It's not particularly a style that I listen to often, but the words are solid ~ and so is Jesus, who is the Light House.

The Lighthouse

There's a lighthouse on a hillside
That overlooks life's sea
When I'm tossed, it sends out
A light that I might see
And the light that shines in darkness now
Will safely lead me thru the night
If it wasn't for The Lighthouse
My ship would sail no more.

cho: And I thank God for The Lighthouse
Well, I owe my life to Him
For Jesus is The Lighthouse
And from the rocks I've seen
He has shone a light all around me
That I might clearly see
If it wasn't for The Lighthouse
Tell me where would this ship be.

Ev'rybody that lives about me
They said tear that lighthouse down
'Cause the big ships they don't sail this way anymore
There's no use of it standing 'round
Then my mind goes back to that stormy night
When just in time, I saw that light
Yes that light from that old lighthouse
That stands up there on the hill.

cho:

He has shone a light all around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for The Lighthouse
Tell me where would this ship be.

That is a powerful song. When I think of the storms in my life when all I have known to do is to cling to the light from that Old Lighthouse that shines all about me ~ giving light to the darkness. To MY darkness. Praise God, He is faithful to meet our every need.

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America.

If you would like to participate: each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the up-coming election, and for the revival of Christianity in this great country.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.

Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

Thank You. Please pass this on to anyone who you think will want to join us.

Meeting up with Tamara and Mackenzie in Atlanta, Georgia

When I got off of work March 31st I drove on down to Atlanta, Georgia to meet up with my husband, Ricky and with Tamara and Mackenzie. Rick had 2 days of school, so we took advantage to have a day to play!! I took Mackenzie's first birthday presents with me so she could open them a few days late. Then I also took her shopping and stocked her up on shorts, tops and a few sundresses for the summer. We got to have all day on the tuesday (April 1) together and then I had to leave by no later than 10 am on the Wednesday to get back home in time for work at 2pm. So I got about 7 miles from the hotel and got stuck for the next hour or so in a traffic jam!!! LOL. We were going to go to the zoo but they said 80 or 90% chance of rain so we shopped instead. Very little rain happened, so we COULD have gone. We went to the Cheesecake Factory to eat on the Tuesday and Outback Steakhouse that night.
Little Mackenzie is getting so big, it seems hard to believe. They will be here in about a week and a half or two, depending on Tamara's new job. Joshua will be here too. He is going to be in his cousins wedding and Tamara needs to go to a class at the college, so it is a good combination trip. She is hoping she and Mackenzie will make the wedding too, but doesn't know yet with work. It will be good to see them all.
